Banana Malpua with Dry Fruits

Janmashtami, Lord Krishna’s birthday is celebrated all over India today. Prepared Banana Malpua for this occasion.

Refined flour / Maida: 1 cup
Banana: 2 nos (mashed)
Khoya /Milk powder: 3 tsp
Fennel seeds: 1 tsp slightly crushed
Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
Baking powder: 1/2 tsp
Curd/ yogurt: 1 tbsp
Water: As needed
Cashew: 2 tsp crushed
Almond: 2 tsp crushed
Coconut: 2 tsp grated
Oil: For deep frying
Ghee: 1 tbsp

For Sugar syrup

Sugar: 1 cup
Water: 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder: 1/4 tsp
Saffron stands: 1 pinch



1. In a bowl add refined flour, baking powder, milk powder/khoya, crushed fennel seeds/ saunf, cardamom powder, curd, mashed bananas and water. Stir to form a thick flowing batter with no lumps in it.
